Tamara de Lempicka (1898 –1980) was a Polish Art Deco painter, scandalous, bohemian, unique, and “the first woman artist to be a glamour star”.
She was influenced by “soft cubism” and by the “synthetic cubism” of Maurice Denis, epitomizing the sensual side of the Art Deco movement. Her artistic style was distinctive and bold and developed very quickly, and her technique was novel, clean, precise, and elegant.
